Peonies in the interior: beauty that brings love and happiness

Peonies in the interior: beauty that brings love and happiness

The theme week “Peony Paradise” is taking place at the Masters Fair. Based on materials on the Internet, I made a selection on the topic of using peonies for interior decoration, which I want to share with you.
These include photo wallpapers, modular paintings, curtains, bedspreads, bed linen, dishes and, of course, just bouquets. Very cute, delicate and at the same time majestic flowers perfectly decorate the interior, filling the air with a unique aroma. Peony can rightfully be called one of the most beautiful flowers in the world.

It has a wonderful delicate aroma, bright color, and it is difficult to confuse peony with another garden plant. But not many people know that such an amazing flower has a deep meaning. If we turn to the most ancient Chinese treatises on Feng Shui, we learn from them that peonies symbolize the most important thing in our lives - love and family well-being.

Peonies attract representatives of the stronger sex and increase the chances of finding a soul mate. At the same time, as they believe in China, the positive energy of the plant will help you get married successfully, but after marriage, bouquets of peonies can have a negative impact on family life: the husband will go for walks, finding love pleasures on the side.

For businessmen and people making a career, peony will help them achieve their goals. By placing vases of flowers in the office or living room, a man will feel a surge of energy, which will allow him to quickly climb the ladder of success in business.

The color of peonies is also of great importance. If you want to add romance and tenderness to your life, then you should pay attention to pink peonies, if a storm of emotions and passion - to red ones. There are not enough warm, trusting relationships - you need white ones. Light yellow and cream peonies will bring stability, purple and blue ones will bring a sense of security.

The peonies in the paintings are not only a wonderful decoration for the home, but also an excellent “therapeutic” remedy, since they give warm peace and relaxation, so necessary among the frantic rhythm of modern life. The aroma of peony is sweet, floral, rich, tart, with a hint of rose, and has a sedative effect. By the way, peony root is also used in medicine, in the form of a tincture, and this tincture is taken for insomnia.

In Russia under Peter I, the peony was called the master's flower - the plant was the favorite of all successful, rich people of that time. According to tradition, every person who achieved fame and money had to plant a peony in his garden as a sign of gratitude to fate for such generous gifts.

What not to do?

There are certain rules for using fresh flowers and their images. Despite the enormous positive energy, you can turn it against yourself if you use the symbol incorrectly. Professionals do not recommend the following.

  • There is no need to place flowers in your home or work if they are not attractive or are not your favorite. Such a symbol will not help people with a negative attitude, since a reaction is only possible to warm and sincere feelings.
  • If an image of a flower or bouquets of peonies were placed indoors to achieve a certain goal, for example, to find a husband, then after receiving what you wanted, you should remove the symbol from the house. If this is not done, the consequences may be negative.
  • There is no need to hang a picture with a bouquet in the room and leave it there forever, you need to change it or remove it for a while, otherwise there will be no effect, and in the worst case, it will be the opposite.
  • The described symbol does not like water around him, he is in disharmony with it, therefore it will not be possible to achieve a beneficial effect from the flower. This is one of the reasons why peonies are never planted in the garden near fountains or artificial ponds. There should not be an aquarium nearby in the room.

In the next video you will find more information about the symbolism of the peony.

Photo wallpaper with peonies in modern interiors

The first photo wallpapers appeared back in the 1970s and 1980s in the then USSR. At that time, for most people they were a novelty, since images had not been glued to the entire wall or at least part of the wall until then. Needless to say, there was no time for photo wallpapers in the country, so when the first canvases began to appear, albeit of low quality, this caused an undoubted stir among buyers.

Nowadays, it’s difficult to impress anyone with photo wallpapers or the idea of using them in one place or another in the apartment. However, you may be surprised by something a little different. Moreover, it’s nice to surprise both yourself, your loved one, and guests and relatives, whom most of us periodically receive on holidays and anniversaries. We are talking about such concepts as image quality and an interesting plot.

In addition, the quality of the material itself on top of which the image is applied can also be a pleasant surprise. If those old photo wallpapers that were discussed were, as a rule, made exclusively from paper, today most such materials are made from more modern raw materials. Non-woven and vinyl wallpapers have firmly taken their place not only on store shelves, but also in customer preferences. In today’s article we will talk about photo wallpaper “peonies”, as one of the most unusual, but at the same time, attractive options for floral decoration.

Wallpaper companions

When choosing companion wallpaper, you need to pay attention to the color of the image, and not to the color of the main background. So, for example, for white wallpaper with roses you should choose a couple of rolls of a red warm shade. As an option, combine wallpaper with a floral print and striped or checkered wallpaper. Geometric shapes will be balanced by plant elements. This is especially true when a man plans to actively use the room. A floral interior will not look so feminine if geometric patterns are laconically included in it.

Peculiarities

Thanks to interesting subjects, selection of colors, as well as surface texture, photo wallpapers that are on the market these days can significantly influence the design of any room or space, transforming it, as they say, in the direction we need. So, if you need to create the impression of a more spacious interior, this can be done by using special effects that allow you to create the visual illusion of a larger room. In addition, if your apartment lacks sunlight due to small windows, this can also be corrected by using both traditional wallpaper and specially colored wallpaper, and placing them in the right places.

Consider the size of the picture

Canvases with voluminous flowers are certainly a beautiful element, but they are only suitable for large and spacious rooms. If you have a small space, then a small floral print is the perfect solution. It will visually enlarge the room and create the impression of greater volume. But at the same time, you should not paste the ceiling with such wallpaper; it is better to leave it plain and light. This will visually pull the walls up.

Apartment with peonies: feminine interior in Moscow

The history of this feminine interior begins with a Dolce & Gabbana neckerchief depicting pink and burgundy flowers with green leaves and the apartment owner's impressive collection of 18th-century French prints.

The engravings dictated the elegant style of the apartment, intended for an accomplished adult housewife, and the scarf with which she came to her first meeting with the designer determined the color scheme of the interior. During the design process, the collection of engravings was supplemented and updated, a place was prepared for each, creating a specific interior mise-en-scène.

The apartments are located in Moscow in the new business-class residential complex “Vorobiev House”. They include an open space kitchen-living room-hallway, as well as a bedroom, master and guest bathrooms and a dressing room.

The interior style was defined as modern classics. The main colors are steel grey, powder pink, emerald green and a touch of brass. High ceilings and panoramic glazing made it possible to let “air” into the interior, thanks to which the bold color scheme only benefited - the noble shades were fully revealed.

The owner set the task of “dissolving” the kitchen into the interior, hiding all the cabinets, and, on the contrary, placing emphasis on the seating area in the living room. Therefore, the kitchen furniture was chosen in a modern style - oak veneer with smooth facades and MDF, painted to match the main color of the walls. The severity of the lines is set off by brass elements and beautiful quartz on the apron and countertop. To prevent the kitchen from dominating the open space, it was hidden in a niche. A cozy lounge area has been created in the living room with a sofa and armchairs, a soft handmade Indian silk carpet and a vintage Dutch coffee table.

In the bedroom they told an absolutely feminine, tender story. A painting in the form of peonies appeared on the wall behind the bed, light lamps reminiscent of dew drops appeared above the bedside tables, and the walls on the sides of the bed were painted a powdery pink shade. The main storage system was placed in the dressing room.

The owner imagined the future bathroom as a room, and not just as a typical “bathroom”. “That’s why tiles and gold mosaics were only partially used on the walls,” says project author Elena Bogdan, ABINT Studio. — The walls were painted, and they became a worthy backdrop for collectible engravings. The floors throughout the apartment were covered with French herringbone parquet boards from Parketoff group. The doors are high - almost 3 meters. At the request of the designer, the company painted the floors and doors to perfectly match the desired tone. The walls were decorated with high-tech Tollens paint, resistant to scratches and any damage.

How to choose photo wallpaper with flowers: examples of interiors in the photo

Associated with Chinese philosophy is the concept of the harmonious arrangement of objects in the house, which helps to bring order to a person’s life. In the teachings of Feng Shui, a place is also given to plants related to the Ying elements - the forces of nature. Each flower is associated with an emotional state, human senses, and color.

Of all the flowers, the Chinese people consider the peony to be a royal person. He won such an attitude with his beauty, imperceptible pleasant aroma, it is not for nothing that he is classified as a carrier of pure energy. Peony occupies a special place in the science of Feng Shui.

What does the flower symbolize?

There is something incredibly sensual and healing about this unique flower. Peonies have a sincere and open energy, unchanging purity and healing power. This plant symbolizes love and marriage, so its images can often be found in the bedroom of newlyweds. Although the classical feng shui school does not recommend depicting these flowers in the room of an elderly couple.

The meaning of this symbol is not only love, but also wealth and prosperity. It is the national flower of China, where it is known as the “flower of wealth and honor.” It means affection, feminine beauty and the loving feelings of youth. Peonies are often mentioned in romantic Chinese poetry and literature and are used as major motifs in decorative arts, and can be found on porcelain and tapestries. In Feng Shui, the plant is used to attract romance, wealth and good luck.

During the Chinese Tang Dynasty, peonies became part of Yang Gui Fei's dowry. This beauty abundantly decorated her bedroom with flowers, and her garden was completely planted with them. Perhaps this is one of the reasons why she became the emperor's favorite concubine out of thousands of other girls.

Keep your balance

All elements in the interior cannot be bright and catchy, otherwise you risk turning your home into a circus tent. Remember the golden rule: if the floral wallpaper is bright and the print is large enough, the rest of the interior elements should become a calm background for this beauty. And, conversely, for modest floral wallpapers, bright elements of decor and furniture will be a worthy pair.

Peony according to Feng Shui: its meaning, secret power

In the houses of nobles and in the palace of the Chinese emperor there were always bouquets of fresh peonies. The power of the flower was valued for attracting wealth and strengthening power. In the bedroom, peonies kindled passion between a man and a woman and added novelty to the relationship. By skillfully using the power of the plant, a woman could achieve a lot from her beloved man; he would fulfill her every whim. It is not for nothing that the beauty of a flower is compared to the appearance of a beautiful lady.

It is not for nothing that the peony is the favorite of emperors; its regal appearance favors good luck and wealth.

For a girl, peony has magical powers, attracting the other half to the house. The positive energy of the plant will help you get married successfully. But after marriage, bouquets of peonies will have a negative impact on family life: the husband will walk around, finding love pleasures on the side.

For businessmen and people making a career, peony will help them achieve their goals. By placing vases of flowers in the office or living room, a man will feel a surge of energy, which will allow him to quickly climb the ladder of success in business.

Color Meanings

attracts positive energy better . If it is one peony, then it symbolizes fidelity and unity. A wife and husband will live a long and happy life when there is an image of a flower in their home. Red or pink peonies in the amount of 3 pieces mean that a man will not love and notice anyone other than his already existing other half. When the buds are yellow, they attract a healthy spirit into the house and promote longevity.

Five buds in one bouquet bring positive emotions and favorable changes to life, regardless of color. It is customary to give seven peonies for a wedding or anniversary; this is a classic number.

For older people, 9, 11 and 15 flowers are suitable, which in China are considered a symbol of a large amount of money, earned respect and honor.

White peonies have a very good effect on the atmosphere in the house; they contribute to the emergence of the necessary harmony and tranquility. Fewer quarrels arise between residents, and resentment goes away faster. Purple flowers are considered good protectors from negative energy, but for harmony and stability in relationships it is better to take yellow buds. When choosing the color of the buds, you should always take into account the general principles of Feng Shui.

Decor and furniture for a room decorated with floral wallpaper

When the wallpaper has already taken its place of honor on the wall, it’s time to arrange furniture and decorate the room and windows. We suggest not stopping at the wallpaper and repeating the floral print you like on other furnishings. For example, order floral upholstery or curtains with a plant-themed pattern. You can hang paintings depicting flowers on the walls and place figurines of plants on the shelves. You can decorate a phytowall opposite the floral wallpaper, creating a real oasis of harmony and comfort in your home.

Photo wallpaper with peonies on the wall

Flowers can beautifully decorate any interior, so very often one of the key design elements is photo wallpaper with pink peonies, lilies, daisies, roses and other exquisite representatives of the flora. The peony is especially prominent in oriental designs as it is a symbol of love and family in Chinese culture. That is why Feng Shui experts advise using photo wallpaper with peonies in the interior of a bedroom or kitchen, that is. in the rooms where spouses most often spend time together.

Images of peonies are not often made in perspective, so they are aimed more at performing a purely decorative function. If it is necessary to expand the space, then this can be done by choosing lighter, cooler shades of the background on which flowers are depicted. Also in this case, you can use macro drawings of one peony, from which petals fly off and are carried away by the wind. Such a plot has everything necessary to expand the space and create a colorful interior - the center of attention is the flower itself, the speaker is the petals, and the space is a plain background. It is important to note that photo wallpapers with peonies, photos of which will advantageously decorate any room, do not require compliance with the empty wall rule, and can be partially covered with a shelving unit or chair. Therefore, both in a visual sense and in a practical sense, such photo printing is the best choice for a small room.

If you want to recreate the spirit of mystery and romanticism, you should install photo wallpaper on the wall with peonies painted using Japanese painting techniques. It uses a relatively dim background of gold and green tones, slightly muted abstract patterns, and, of course, the peonies themselves, mostly white, outlined in black. Although such images do not have perspective, they will delight you with their unusual graphics and rich play of colors. Being within the range of warm and neutral tones, such a picture can be universal and can withstand any scaling, therefore it is appropriate in a wide variety of designs.

If you want to focus designer attention not only on the wall, but also on additional accessories, then you should install photo wallpaper with peonies on the wall, photos of which have additional thin or small elements. In addition to dew drops, these can be rays of an unusual color - red or green, which descend in several small bunches onto the delicate petals of the peony. If they decorate a picture with a perspective, where the flowers gradually “go” into the distance, then the rays will play an even more important role. By focusing attention on themselves, they will distract from the perspective itself, and meanwhile it will work latently, saturating the room with depth and spaciousness.

Another notable solution in modern design will be photo wallpaper of a bouquet of peonies. Captivating with their cheerfulness and colorfulness, they best show how beautiful this flower is. A large bouquet containing white, pink, red and burgundy peonies often has stems with heads that have not yet opened, which harmoniously compensate for the excessive brightness of the whole picture. Interestingly, photo wallpapers with red peonies, as well as large bouquets, are easily scaled and have practically no restrictions in their use. Even in the kitchen they will highlight the overall design.

Photo wallpaper with peonies on the wall, which is not a photograph, but an artistic painting, looks unusual. Painting always looks noble, and it is appropriate in any room, but, of course, it looks best in the hall. Often such paintings are a combined bouquet of a variety of flowers, where peonies harmoniously coexist with purple lilac and white jasmine, making them suitable for an interior where any shade is dominant. If you choose photo wallpaper for the bedroom with peonies, then it is best to give preference to plain bouquets, as they promote relaxation and good sleep.

Considered a symbol of family happiness, the peony will truly bring harmony, love and stability to the house, giving the inhabitants of the house a good mood and only positive emotions every day.

Flower fortune telling

Before choosing a floral wallpaper, think about the meaning of the flower depicted on it. Do you think this is a small thing? Not at all. Each flower has its own characteristics, and the room is literally filled with its energy.

Poppy

Capable of giving the surrounding interior softness and a romantic aura. Poppies look especially impressive against a white or dark background. In the language of flowers, poppies mean sleep and serenity. A print that repeats their image will come in handy in the bedroom.

Roses

Almost everyone loves this flower. It combines tenderness and passion at the same time. This is a flower of love and friendship, everyone gives it their own special meaning. Roses will look harmonious in a women's room or living room. Scarlet roses are a favorite motif of designers creating kitchen interiors.

Peonies

These flowers are peonies of grace and bliss. Most often, peonies are chosen to decorate an Asian-style living room.

Daisies

Simple wildflowers are a symbol of spontaneity and spiritual purity. This wallpaper should be used to decorate a child's room.

Irises

Purple irises will soothe tired eyes and inspire an aura of mystery. This flower is good for a bedroom or a room intended for relaxation.

Sakura

This is an undoubted favorite of the oriental style. Blooming buds can become the main accent, setting the tone for the entire decoration of the room.

How to plant a flower in the garden according to Feng Shui

The royal peony is considered a garden decoration. Bushes with lush fragrant flowers begin to delight at the beginning of summer. In order for the plant to bring the owner improved well-being, success in his career, stability in love and marriage, it is planted in the southwest of the garden.

During flowering, the bushes will relieve possible problems, and the air will smell of love and romance of relationships.

During this period, good luck will come to the house and stay in it for a long time. The root of the plant, dug up during the appearance of lush buds, has medicinal properties. It is infused and drunk to restore male strength, increase sexuality, and for women it helps regulate the menstrual cycle. Tincture of the plant calms nerves and improves sleep.

By properly caring for a peony in the garden, you can prolong its flowering, and, therefore, a positive effect on the aura of its owners:

Proper care is necessary for peonies to fulfill their function of filling the air around the house with clean energy.

Types and shades of peonies

It’s amazing how huge the choice is among the whole variety of varieties, types and shades of peonies. Most of them are herbaceous, but some are tree-like. The buds can be simple, ordinary, semi-double with lush petals, or double, in which even the stamens have a “fluffy” appearance. There are also anemoid and Japanese peonies, as well as very interesting hybrid varieties. The stamens in them do not always match the color of the petals, but are yellow or completely contrasting tones.

Among the entire color palette, one cannot find, perhaps, only peonies in blue, dark blue and black shades. The buds can be colored milky white, pink (from pastel to fuchsia), yellow and even dark burgundy. Petals with splashes or flowers with a darker center, such as the “Top Brass” variety, will look stunning in any floral composition. Regarding the stem and petals, their “greenness” also has different shades - from grayish-gray to lush grassy or marshy.

Artificial flowers in a vase for the bedroom

It is not recommended to place fresh flowers in the bedroom, nor to grow plants in pots there. This is a relaxation room, so the energy of calm should be concentrated here. Orchids are quite appropriate, not only in a vase, but also as a composition on a windowsill along with artificial greenery and rhinestones. If you couldn’t buy orchids, put roses in a container, for example, cream or slightly yellowish ones. Do not believe that yellow is a sign of separation. Scientists came up with this legend when they were unable to breed a variety of this shade for a long time.

Subtleties of arrangement in the interior

It is especially good for Feng Shui if a pink peony is placed in the living room. Couples looking to enhance their romantic relationship can add red peonies to the living room, but they should not be in the bedroom. For representatives of the fair sex who dream of consolidating their relationship by marriage, it is best to hang a picture of peonies, but use the space above the entrance to the bedroom or the wall opposite it. In this place, the plant attracts a lot of positive energy, the picture will be even better than real flowers.

To get the desired love, you can choose a living room for the peony, here the image will begin to attract harmony into the house. The bouquet can be either monochromatic or combine flowers of different colors. Photo wallpapers are considered a good modern option.

You need to be careful with the color palette; it is better to use pastel colors.
