Application
Dry mixture KNAUF-Rotband is intended for high-quality plastering of ceilings and walls made of concrete, brick, cement plaster, polystyrene foam surfaces, and DSP.
Recommended for smooth concrete ceiling and wall surfaces.
The plaster is suitable for finishing rooms with normal humidity, as well as in kitchens and bathrooms with a coating that provides protection against moisture.
Designed for interior work.
Advantages
- KNAUF-Rotband gypsum plaster provides a smooth surface that does not require additional putty.
- Does not crack even with a thick layer.
- The consumption of KNAUF-Rotband gypsum plaster is 2 times less than traditional cement-sand plaster mixtures.
- Application of a plaster layer up to 50 mm thick in one stroke without preliminary spraying. If necessary, thicker layers can be applied in two coats.
- The versatility of the material allows for simultaneous plastering and puttying, production of decorative elements, repair and restoration work.
- High water-holding capacity - the mortar mixture does not separate and does not dehydrate even on porous substrates that absorb moisture well and at elevated temperatures.
- Regulates the level of humidity in the room - the surface “breathes”, creating a favorable microclimate in the room.
- The material is made from environmentally friendly natural mineral (gypsum) and does not contain substances harmful to human health.

Preparation of the solution:
Pour into a plastic tank
18 liters of clean cold water, based on one bag (30 kg) of dry mixture, add 5-7 trowels of dry plaster mixture and mix. Then pour the entire mixture out of the bag and mix with a plaster mixer until a homogeneous, lump-free mass is obtained. Leave for 5 minutes and stir again. If necessary, add water or dry mixture and mix again. During the process of applying the solution to the surface to be plastered, you cannot add water or dry mixture to the tank! It is not allowed to introduce other components into the solution!
Tools and containers
First, we will list the tools and accessories, then we will analyze the details.
- Master OK;
- mixer;
- spatulas (2 different widths);
- containers (for mixing, water, washing tools);
- wide brush for washing tools and dishes;
- scales, measuring container.
Let us immediately note several nuances of the mixing process related to the container. Today's utensils are made of plastic. A container made of soft plastic will withstand numerous cycles of mixing and production longer.
The container volume is selected depending on the number of plasterers directly involved in applying the plaster, their experience, as well as the volume of mass required for repairs. If you only need to plaster a small area, you can use a plastic paint bucket for preparation. If a beginner is plastering, then a 60 liter basin is enough. A professional will be able to produce a large volume (90 liter container) before setting begins.
In order for a plastic basin to last longer, it is recommended not to carry it along the floor, but to rearrange it by lifting it (it is advisable to take it together, then the container will not deform under the weight of the plaster when lifted).
Before mixing, the floor surface under the basin is cleared of debris (must be level), and near the wall it is better to place a basin filled with solution on a bag with SS.
Gypsum is a capricious material and sets quickly. The lifespan of a solution may vary for various reasons. If a lump of the solution that has begun to harden gets into the plaster dough, crystallization centers will form ahead of time. For this reason, you cannot add dry mixture to a ready-made solution.

There are construction dry mixes and dry mixes for the production of milk, ice cream, and baby food. These two types of completely different products are certified in completely different systems. Certification of milk powder mixtures is carried out in accordance with the technical regulations of the Customs Union for dairy products. The information on this page concerns only dry mixtures for construction work, such as Knauf Rotband, Vetonit and others.
Our company, an accredited product certification body "Planet-Test", draws up and issues a certificate of conformity for dry mixes for construction purposes. Vetonit, Rotband (Knauf), Bolars, Volma, Ceresit - regardless of the manufacturer and brand, dry mixes are not subject to mandatory certification. However, you can order from us a voluntary certificate of conformity for Vetonit, Rotband and other dry construction mixtures, thereby receiving an official written confirmation of the conformity of their quality, issued by an accredited certification body. This certainly makes sense. Indeed, very often, in order to participate in large tenders for the supply of building materials, a certificate of conformity for dry mixes and other construction products is required as a prerequisite.
