Performance characteristics of acrylic-based primer VD-AK-133

Features of acrylic primer VD AK 133

Primer VD-AK-133 is a water-dispersion acrylic primer that is used to treat surfaces in construction and repair before painting. Pre-priming with the mixture reduces the likelihood of cracks, blisters and wrinkles appearing on the walls in the future. Its use extends the service life of the finishing layer.

About the primer

Primer VD AK 133 is produced based on acrylic dispersion in accordance with GOST 28196-89. In addition to the main component, tcnm contains water, surfactants, biocide, fillers and additives.

The primer meets the requirements of GOST. This is confirmed by the certificate of conformity issued to it by the inspection body. Each batch is issued a certificate and a hygiene passport.

The mixture increases the adhesion of different surfaces, on which, after applying the primer, a protective film layer is formed. The technical characteristics of the primer allow it to be used for processing wood, metal, concrete, plaster, brick, plasterboard and stone structures. The mixture can be applied to cement-sand screed and plastered surfaces.

A primer is used to increase the elasticity of building materials. In this case, it must be added before use. Very often it is applied to the walls before wallpapering.

VD AK 133 primer is intended for interior and exterior work. It is used in places where there are high requirements for moisture protection, since the primer reliably protects the surface from the influence of liquids. Outside, gables and facades can be primed; indoors, it is often used in kitchens and bathrooms.

The mixture is colorless and odorless, environmentally friendly, and does not emit harmful fumes.

After its application, a colorless, highly elastic film is formed, which helps eliminate dust, allows air to pass through and reduces paint consumption. When a primer is used for wood, it protects it from moisture, rot, mold and mildew, but the mixture is not able to protect metal from corrosion.

Certificate of conformity

Each paint and varnish material must comply with specified standards and parameters. After production, the primer is sent for testing to a special inspection body. After verification, a certificate is issued for the composition, which confirms its compliance with the state standard (all standards are specified in it).

You can find the certificate of conformity for VD AK 133 primer below.

Application of VD AK

There are specifics to using the VD AK 133 primer. First you need to first make sure that the surface to be treated does not crumble, chip or crumble.

Applying primer over old paint is not allowed; it must first be cleaned, drips, glue and lime residues must be removed, and oil stains must be wiped off.

  • If there are cracks or loose areas in the surface, they need to be repaired.
  • If you plan to prime putty or plastered surfaces, you must wait until they dry completely. After applying the plaster, at least a week should pass, and after the cement-sand mixture - about a month.
  • When working with primer, you should wear rubber gloves. It is not necessary to work in a respirator; there are no toxic substances or solvents in the mixture.
  • Before using the soil, it must be thoroughly mixed with a wooden stick or a metal rod; in case of a large volume, this can be done with a mixer. After mixing, the mixture is filtered with a 0.1-0.2 mesh.
  • The operating temperature in the room must be at least 15°C. For outdoor work, you need to choose dry and windless weather.

To apply the primer, you can use a roller or brush, and larger surfaces can be primed with a sprayer. It is better to choose a roller from wool or mohair. To apply primer using this method, the initial viscosity of the mixture is sufficient.

If you need to work with a spray gun, the soil is diluted with water to a viscosity of 18-20. The parameter is measured using a VZ-246 viscometer with a nozzle diameter of 4 mm.

The primer is applied in two layers, the interval between applications can be no more than one hour. If the air temperature is below +20°C, it takes about two hours to dry one layer.

    Soil consumption per 1 m2 and how long does it take to dry?

    The primer consumption will depend on the temperature its application will be carried out. Another important point will be the application technique.

    If you cover the surface with a roller, then the consumption will be significantly reduced, and if you use a brush for painting, then it will increase.

    The approximate consumption for acrylic soil mixtures is one liter per area of twelve to fifteen square meters.

    After the primer is purchased, it must be inspected, because the instructions indicate the time during which it can dry completely.

    It is important to consider the fact that many deep penetration mixtures require some time between subsequent coatings. This period must be at least 24 hours .

    Acrylic mixtures can dry completely in half a day. The time it takes for the primer mixture to dry will be influenced by factors such as:

    • temperature and humidity level in the room;
    • level of porosity on the surface to be coated;
    • thickness of the applied layer.
