Application area:

Paint Tikkurila Luja 20 (Tikkurila Luja 20) Designed for painting concrete, plastered, putty, brick, gypsum and fiber boards indoors. Suitable for painting both new and previously painted surfaces.

Type:

Application method:

Apply by brush, high pressure spray or roller. When spraying under high pressure, use a nozzle of 0.015″ – 0.021″. It is allowed to dilute up to 5% by volume.

Drying time at +23ºС:

Unstuck - 2 hours. The next layer can be applied after 4 hours.

Wash resistance:

Excellent. Resistant to strong detergents and disinfectants used in hospitals.

Chemical resistance:

Resistant to solvents such as white spirit.

Heat resistance:

85 °C, ISO 4211-2, ISO 4211-3.

Paint Tikkurila Luja 20 (Tikkurila Luja 20) storage:

Store products at a temperature not lower than + 5° and not higher than + 25°C in a tightly closed container, protecting from moisture, heat and direct sunlight, away from heating devices.

Processing conditions:

The surface to be painted must be dry. The air temperature should not be lower than +5 ºС and the relative humidity should not be higher than 80%

Preliminary preparation:

– Unpainted surfaces:

Degrease and clean the surface from dirt and dust. Correct any unevenness using a suitable Presto putty and sand the dry surface. Remove sanding dust. If necessary, prime with universal primer “Luya” or primer “Varma”.

– Previously painted surfaces:

Wash the surface with Maalipesu solution according to the instructions for use, then rinse thoroughly with water and allow to dry. Remove peeling paint with a scraper. Sand hard, glossy layers of old paint to a matte state, remove sanding dust. Correct any unevenness using a suitable Presto putty. Sand the dried surface and remove dust. If necessary, prime with universal primer “Luya” or primer “Varma” before topcoating.

Color:

Mix the paint thoroughly before use. Apply by brush, roller or spray in 2 layers.

Cleaning the instrument:

Wash working tools with water. It is recommended to remove slightly hardened paint with Pensselipesu brush cleaner.

Care:

Avoid the use of detergents and vigorous cleaning of the freshly painted surface for several weeks, as the fresh coating reaches its final hardness and durability in approx. one month after painting. If necessary, light cleaning with a soft brush or damp cloth can be used to clean the coating during this period.

About a month after painting, the finished coating can be cleaned with neutral (pH 6-8) detergents using a soft cloth or brush or sponge. Heavily soiled surfaces can be cleaned with weak alkaline detergents (pH 8-10), for example, with a cloth or sponge. After cleaning, the surface must be thoroughly washed with clean water. When preparing the cleaning solution, follow the recommendations of the detergent manufacturers.

Repair painting:

The surface painted with “Luya” paint can be painted with the same type of water-based paint. See “Preliminary preparation”.
