Gouache and PVA: how it works

In addition, it is possible to conduct quite bold experiments. To do this, it is recommended to mix the coating with white to obtain new tones.

To give gouache new properties, it can be combined with PVA glue. This substance is often used for painting and repair work. The combination with PVA glue helps to obtain a stronger and more durable coating. It becomes embossed and holds volume well.

At the same time, applying the dye in too thick a layer is prohibited. In this case, after drying, it will begin to crack and crumble. If the painting turns out to be not very attractive or is simply boring, you can easily wash it off the canvas or other blank. After this, you can apply the next drawing.

Important subtleties

To get the desired effect, it is worth considering important nuances:

It is recommended to draw on tinted textured paper. In this case, it will be possible to leave unpainted areas.
