Properties of paints and varnishes

Primer XC-010 is a one-component material, it is based on vinyl chloride and vinylidene chloride (vinylidene chloride). Being in a production container, it has a pungent odor, which, after application to the surface to be treated, disappears during the drying process.

XC-010 is used in combination with XC-75U enamel, which is applied in 2 layers (XC and XB grades are acceptable), and XC-76 varnish (applied in 1 layer). The complex coating has a thickness of 85-110 microns. Solvents of grade R-4 and R-4A are used for dilution. Rules for applying complex polymer coating

According to GOST 9355 81, coating with XC-010 primer is carried out using pneumatic sprayers or airless guns. Stages of work:

1. Clean the surface from any remaining old paint and degrease it.
2. Open the container with the primer and mix it using a drill with a mixer attachment.
3. Prime the sprayer and apply the first coat of primer to the prepared surface.
4. After 60 minutes, apply a second layer of XC-010 primer.
5. After another hour, apply the enamel in 2 layers with a drying interval of 1-2 hours at an air temperature of +20 °C (the manufacturer recommends using enamels with the indices XC, XCh, XB).
6. After the enamel has completely dried, apply varnish XC-76 in 1 layer.

Carrying out work during rain, snow, and other precipitation is unacceptable. It is also contraindicated to apply primer to wet or icy surfaces.

The primer is sprayed outdoors or in a well-ventilated room. Permissible temperatures for work: -10 – +30 °C. Air humidity should not exceed 80%. To avoid the accumulation of condensation on the treated surface, it is necessary that its temperature is at least 3 ° C above the dew point.

Initially, the XC-010 primer was developed for professional use in production conditions, so packaging from 20 to 200 liters is mainly found. Due to its high quality at an affordable price, the product has become in demand in the household sector, so the primer has been produced in containers of 1, 2.5 and 10 liters. The color of the primer XC-010 for household needs can be either red-brown or gray.
