Loctite super glue gel control - instant household glue/gel

Loctite super glue gel control is an instant super glue gel with higher performance compared to ordinary super glues.

Types of compositions

The company produces sealants for various purposes that can be used to repair almost all automotive components. Loctite's main products are sealants and instant-drying adhesives. The manufacturer's products can be used to process fasteners and seal gaps.

Threaded fasteners

Designed to securely connect fasteners and prevent self-unscrewing of hardware. Viscous and semi-solid compounds fill threads, eliminating technological gaps between surfaces. They polymerize at room temperature and “work” with metal surfaces. Single-component Loctite sealants are vibration resistant and effectively seal leaks. The line includes more than 20 products, the most popular are Loctite 243, 270, 2400, 2700.

Thread sealants

Loctite anaerobic compounds are used to form a sealing layer on threaded connections, which prevents the passage of automotive liquids and gases through them. After application, the anaerobic sealant Loctite can withstand low pressure, and when complete polymerization occurs, it can withstand strong impacts.

Product Features:

  1. Simplicity and ease of operation.
  2. No shrinkage or layer displacement.
  3. Replacement of gasket materials.
  4. Resistant to shock and vibration.
  5. Effective corrosion protection.

A unique property of anaerobic sealants Loctite is setting in an airless environment. This gives the master the opportunity to thoroughly check the uniformity and accuracy of application of the sealed coating and, if necessary, correct shortcomings. Treatment of metal surfaces is carried out after thorough cleaning and degreasing of parts; semi-automatic equipment can be used.

Note: This category of compounds also includes silicone thread sealant. Loctite is a universal product, suitable for processing plastic joints or fixing metal parts with plastic products. The most common compositions are Loctite gel 577, 586, 5776, 5400 for threads with medium and large pitch.

Flange sealants

Manufacturer's products are used instead of gaskets. Sealants form an impenetrable barrier between flange connections, eliminating the leakage of liquids and gases.

Characteristics of substances:

  • Uniform filling of gaps.
  • Resistance to aggressive environments.
  • Absolute tightness of the coating.
  • Instant compaction without shrinkage.
  • They withstand high pressure well.

Compared to classic gaskets, Loctite flange sealant is more effective. It does not deform when exposed to deformation loads and is not squeezed out of the treated area, resistant to tearing, abrasion and cracking. The company produces anaerobic sealants (rigid flange) and silicones (non-rigid seals).

To form automotive gaskets, Loctite 574, 518, 5188 pastes and gels are used with an operating temperature of -55+150°C. Area of use: cast iron, aluminum, steel parts. The greatest demand among car enthusiasts is the gel sealant Loctite 518 in a red syringe. The composition is easy to apply and is a universal remedy.

Shaft-sleeve clamps

The products are used for rigid fitting of cylindrical automotive parts - bearings, bushings, shafts. In order for the product to fit neatly into the seat, it is treated with a special fixing compound. This increases the load-bearing capacity of the unit and promotes uniform load distribution.

Compositions based on methacrylate completely fill gaps and reliably protect cylindrical surfaces from corrosion and wear. Loctite shaft-sleeve locks can be applied manually or using semi-automatic equipment. Loctite 660 gel with activator is in demand in this product line. It forms a layer up to 0.5 mm and gains technological strength in 15 minutes.

Instructions for use

  • Before applying the product, degrease, clean and dry the surfaces of the parts - for which Loctite 7063 can be used.
  • If the adhesive cures slowly, clamp the parts while it cures.

Loctite 326 instructions for use

Loctite 326 is not recommended for use in environments with pure oxygen, chlorine or other strong oxidizing agents. Information on the safe use of this product is contained in the MSDS.

Loctite 326 is not recommended for use on plastics, especially thermoplastics, due to the possibility of deterioration. If such use is necessary, it is necessary to first check the compatibility of the product with the material of the contacting surfaces.

The best results are achieved when gluing clean and grease-free products by applying Loctite 7649 activator to one surface and the adhesive to the other. The optimal adhesive gap is 0.1 mm. If the gap is increased (up to 0.5 mm), or it is necessary to accelerate the polymerization of the product, Loctite 7649 activator can be applied to both bonded surfaces. After applying the activator and glue, the parts must be immediately connected. The maximum dwell time for applied products before joining parts is 15 minutes. Excess product is removed with a rag moistened with an organic solvent. During the period of achieving manual strength of the connection, technological fixation is necessary. As a rule, it takes from 24 to 72 hours from the moment of its assembly before the joint is put into full load, depending on the materials being glued and the adhesive gap.

Loctite 3298

Loctite 3298 is not recommended for use in pure oxygen and/or oxygen rich environments and should not be used as a sealant for chlorine or other strong oxidizing agents.

Loctite 3298 is generally not recommended for use with plastics (especially thermoplastic plastics which are susceptible to stress cracking). Users should ensure product compatibility before use with such substrates.

  1. To achieve the best result, the bonded surfaces must be cleaned and degreased.
  2. To ensure fast and reliable curing, Loctite 7386 activator must be applied to one of the bonded surfaces, and an adhesive compound must be applied to the second surface. The parts must be connected within 15 minutes.
  3. The recommended gap thickness after gluing is 0.05 mm. For larger gaps (no more than 0.4 mm) or to speed up the curing process, it is recommended to apply Loctite 7386 activator to both bonded surfaces. The parts must be joined immediately (within 1 minute).
  4. Remains of adhesive can be removed using an organic solvent.
  5. The parts to be glued must be fastened together until the adhesive sets.
  6. Allow the adhesive to fully cure (usually 24 hours after assembly, depending on gap thickness, materials, and environmental conditions) before subjecting the bonded products to work loads.

Loctite 3421

Loctite 3421 is not recommended for use in pure oxygen environments or as a sealant for chlorinated or other oxidizing materials.

When using aqueous solutions to clean bonded surfaces, you must ensure their compatibility with the adhesive. Aqueous solutions can affect the properties of the adhesive.

The surfaces to be bonded must be degreased. Mix epoxy resin with hardener until a homogeneous mass is formed. The adhesive can be applied directly from the cartridge through the mixing head or using a spatula. The maximum allowable exposure time for a mixture of two adhesive components in small quantities is more than 100 minutes at 25°C. In high temperature conditions, the maximum permissible holding time is reduced. A correctly prepared mixture of glue components has a light yellow color. The recommended installation gap width is from 0.05 to 1.00 mm. Connect the parts to be glued immediately after applying the glue. Remove excess glue using an organic solvent (for example, acetone). Keep the connected parts under pressure until the glue dries. The connection is ready for use after the glue has completely cured.

Loctite 3425

Loctite 3425 is not recommended for use in pure oxygen environments or as a sealant for chlorinated or other oxidizing materials.
