ZIPS
Completely ready-made acoustic solution. Soundproofing boards consist of several materials - lightweight ones based on mineral filler or fiberglass, as well as moderately dense gypsum fiber. During installation, the cut edges of the ZIPS must be sealed with tape, since the inner layer of mineral wool may crumble.

Advantages of ZIPS:
- simple installation;
- fire safety;
- lack of metal frame;
- the presence of locking lamellas that allow you to securely and quickly fasten the material together.
The panels vary in thickness. The higher the noise level in the room, the thicker the insulating product should be. ZIPS can be installed on solid load-bearing surfaces - walls, as well as light plasterboard partitions. The thickness of the panels varies from 40 to 120 mm.
The disadvantage of acoustic slabs of this type is their increased weight. The weight of one panel can be 20 kg. Installation of ZIPS is performed according to the following algorithm:
- Before soundproofing a living space, mandatory preparatory work is carried out - the walls are cleaned and carefully leveled.
- In the areas where load-bearing surfaces (floors and ceilings) meet insulated walls, anti-vibration tape, for example Vibrostek-M products, is laid.
- Acoustic panels are installed using dowels through specially designed vibration units.
- The remaining seams are sealed with silicone sealant.
- After soundproofing the wall surfaces, plasterboard is mounted on ZIPS for subsequent finishing of the room. You can choose acoustic plasterboard - GKLA.

Mineral wool
Mineral wool-based panels are made from pressed fiberglass, which not only has optimal sound-absorbing characteristics, but also perfectly retains heat inside the room. Products made from mineral wool do not require preliminary preparation of working surfaces - they do not need to be cleaned of old coatings, leveled, or primed.

The panels are installed in a pre-prepared frame structure - a lathing made of wood or metal. If the noise level is high, it is permissible to lay mineral wool in two layers. After the soundproofing work has been completed, the walls are sheathed with sheets of plasterboard. When installing a frame for panels based on mineral wool, you can additionally use special hangers with anti-vibration inserts.
In what cases do soundproofing panels help?
There are five types of sounds that disturb people in apartment buildings. First, figure out which sounds predominate. So, the following effects are distinguished.
Airborne noise
This type is more common than others; residents of almost every apartment building hear it, especially if we are talking about a panel building. First of all, this noise comes from the neighbors. This includes:
- loud conversations;
- dog's bark;
- working TV;
- sounding music;
- baby crying and much more.
Shock
Such noise can also be clearly distinguished in any apartment. It appears due to direct impact on the structural elements of the house. In this case, vibrations arise that are transmitted along walls, ceilings and floors over long distances. Examples of such noise are sounds from renovation work, moving furniture, and even from walking.
Structural
Sometimes also found in multi-story buildings. It appears as a result of the fact that rigid communication elements transmit vibrations. Often this effect is recorded in ventilation shafts and pipes. In this case, the rattling is transmitted over long distances.
Acoustic
This type of noise occurs in empty rooms and is an echo. As a rule, it disappears when the rooms begin to be furnished.
Soundproofing and noise-absorbing materials are selected to match the prevailing type of acoustic pollution in the apartment. Of course, it is impossible to 100% eliminate noise arising from vibration. With simple airborne noise, the situation is much simpler; it can be easily eliminated by choosing the right materials.

Acoustic panels
Acoustic panels help cope with extraneous sounds. An example of such products are panels from Isotex. With high levels of noise insulation, they are absolutely environmentally friendly, since they are based on coniferous wood. Also, such products can be easily mounted on load-bearing surfaces using special accessories or simply glued to the walls after their preliminary preparation.
The manufacturer Isotex sells acoustic panels already coated with a decorative coating. This could be vinyl wallpaper, linen, etc. In addition, the products are available in a wide range of colors.

Isotex
Finnish-made slabs made on the basis of a multilayer structure. The design is based on isoplot material, 1.2 centimeters thick. The outer part of the product can consist of various types of finishes. The following materials can be used as finishing: linen, paper or vinyl wallpaper. Decorative panels can be painted or washed.
@PaneliZvukoizolyatsii
The main parameter of the material is its environmental friendliness. The product contains wood material that can be used in residential areas and children's rooms. Due to the porous structure of the panel, it absorbs noise well and has excellent throughput, due to which fungus and mold cannot form on the walls being treated. Due to special processing, the panels are not a flammable material and can be used in buildings with open fire, for example: near a fireplace.
Halltex
A Finnish manufacturer who offered its products only recently, but it was able to gain popularity among consumers. High-quality sound-proofing material with decorative coating is becoming an alternative solution for apartments, offices and public spaces. The material has a number of advantages due to which it can compete with similar types of materials.
@PaneliZvukoizolyatsii
The decorative panels use only natural ingredients: wood shavings and an adhesive solution used in the food industry. Due to the environmental friendliness of the product, it can be used for residential premises and children's rooms.
Outer cover design
Using decorative soundproofing boards you can significantly improve the acoustic performance of a room. There are four main types of textile covering. Depending on your preferences, you can choose exactly what you need. Panels with a fabric backing must be cared for in accordance with the manufacturer's requirements. Fabric panels require dry cleaning, so this feature must be taken into account. The decorative panel is much more durable than the best wallpaper. If the design of the apartment changes, the panels can be repainted, thereby creating a new look for the existing room.

Production and composition
The production technology involves the production of slabs from wood chips. The raw materials are crushed to a fine fraction, after which the composition is filled with water and formed into a product using a mold. The adhesive of the boards is natural resin. Due to the environmental purity of the material, the scope of application of decorative slabs is very wide, and the variety of textures allows you to choose a product for any interior design.
Isoplaat boards
They have a lot in common with acoustic panels. They are characterized by an affordable price combined with improved sound-absorbing and noise-insulating properties, as well as environmental friendliness of the material - the products are made from wood fiber.

The porous structure of the slabs, in addition to protecting against external noise, provides reliable thermal insulation. The material is glued or mounted with special inserts on the wall surface, similar to acoustic panels. But unlike the latter, products from Isoplaat are much thinner with similar technical characteristics, which means they save space when soundproofing a room.
What are soundproofing panels?
These are ready-made soundproofing systems that are used as an additional means of reducing noise, or in cases where some global measures for the building as a whole are not possible. These are a kind of sandwich panels with different thicknesses, consisting of a set of specific sound insulators, that is, materials with different densities and structures. For example, dense layers of gypsum fiber sheet and light layers of mineral wool or expanded polystyrene. They are attached using special units provided in the panel itself or with glue. They do not require additional arrangement of a metal frame and can be mounted directly on the wall, both before the stage of finishing it and as an original design, since manufacturers have provided a variety of decorative soundproofing panels for such cases. They have a tongue-and-groove connection and make it possible to obtain a monolithic soundproofing layer. Finishing is done by pasting with paper or fabric. Very interesting are the three-dimensional 3D drawings and structured surfaces, which allow, in addition to the soundproofing function, to create an original design. Some wall soundproofing panels are triplex panels made of a strong cellulose frame with a soundproofing filler. They are attached to the sheathing or using dowels. Sound waves are repeatedly scattered and absorbed by such a “layered” frame, making it possible to qualitatively reduce airborne noise several times with a very small thickness of the panel itself (up to 12 mm).
Types of panels
There are many offers on the market, here are some of them: 1. “ZIPS”. Its features include: tongue-and-groove joints and frameless fastening to walls through units with vibration isolators specially installed during manufacturing. It consists of a sheet of plasterboard and mineral filler, the thickness depends on the model. GKL sheets are ready for further finishing, which is very convenient. ZIPS 3 Ultra. 2. "ISOPLAAT" (Izoplat). These products from Finland are made from wood fibers, usually pine, pressed using natural wood lignin. They are produced without the addition of chemicals, which is certainly environmentally friendly and safe to use. They have a porous structure and at the same time sufficient strength, they dampen both airborne and impact sounds well. Due to the presence of a natural antiseptic, resinous substance, they are not susceptible to mold and can withstand temperature and humidity changes well; they are recommended for seasonal homes. The smooth surface is good for finishing. 3. "ISOTEX" (Isotex). Produced on the basis of ISOPLAAT slabs (Izoplat). They have a decorative component in the form of covering with original wallpaper materials or linen fabrics of different colors. The fastening is very quick and convenient - tongue and groove, the slabs are lightweight, they can simply be glued or fixed to the sheathing, they can be removed and reused. 4. "Schumanet". This panel is intended as one of the layers in partition or cladding structures. The composition consists of a fiberglass base reinforced with fiberglass, which has excellent noise absorption properties. 5. "PhoneStar" (Fonstar). This is a sheet that is a durable multi-layer cellulose frame filled with mineral matter. It dampens noise well with a relatively thin thickness and is environmentally friendly. 6. "Heradesign" (Heradesign). Made from wood fibers and magnesite additives. It is environmentally friendly, with a high degree of wear resistance, has excellent acoustic properties, durability and capabilities for any design. 7. “OWAcoustic premium” (OVAcaustic premium). The panels are available in several versions. These are elements in the form of paintings that are hung on the wall in the right place where there are noise problems. Any photos, drawings, or ornaments can be printed on them. Consist of perforated aluminum sheet and an acoustic layer of non-woven material, the back wall is made of fiberboard. Another originality is that they can be removed and moved to any place in the room if you need to neutralize noise. In addition to aluminum, panels can also be made of micro-perforated steel sheet, fiberboard or chipboard, as well as non-perforated similar materials. 8. "Comfort" A special feature is that the layers of sound insulators are covered with a special solution based on polymer cements. This makes it possible to use them in high humidity. The products do not warp or rot. They come in different thicknesses, which allows you to choose the one you need, depending on the calculated noise. Fully ready for further types of design. 9. KRAFT (Craft). Made from fiberboard covered with corrugated cardboard and wax-coated paper, they are easy to stick to walls and can be further finished. 10. EcoSoundIsol. Made from seven-layer cardboard filled with quartz mineral substance. For dry rooms. Does not emit harmful vapors, vapor permeable, stable under compression. Thus, we see that manufacturers have taken care of various options for good insulation of walls and rooms, and it is up to consumers to decide which soundproofing panels to buy.
EcoZvukoIzol panels
A worthy product from a Russian one. The insulating material is based on several types of cardboard - flat and profiled. There are seven layers in total in one panel. The areas of voids between them are filled with a mineral filler - quartz sand. The material has optimal soundproofing properties, but has one significant drawback - each panel weighs at least 10 kg.

What do you need to know about soundproofing apartments?
There are many offers on the market with very different prices, but how to choose the right sound-absorbing material? It is important that such products have two main properties: sound insulating and sound absorbing.
Sound insulation means that the material blocks the penetration of extraneous sounds into the room due to their reflection.
Sound absorption – the material, due to its structure, absorbs acoustic waves.
For example, the following product Ruspenel Comfort refers specifically to soundproofing materials. It consists of extruded polystyrene and fiberboard; on one side, the “Comfort” panel is coated with a polymer-cement composition, which makes it possible to apply any finishing finish.
To indicate the degree of efficiency of products, a special RW coefficient is used, which is measured in decibels. It shows what noise level the selected material reflects. Below is a table showing this coefficient for special soundproofing panels of different types.
However, recently the production of building materials has made a big step forward, so now you can safely soundproof walls without losing living space. Modern technologies make it possible to create thinner panels whose properties are not inferior to frame multilayer structures. In the past, the process of installing soundproofing was really difficult. After this treatment of the walls, the room was significantly reduced in size.
Other soundproofing options
In addition to the acoustic characteristics listed above, there are the following materials for protection against extraneous sounds:
- acoustic foam . Targetedly combats the spread of vibration, shock and airborne sound waves. Effectively eliminates noise not only in residential premises - city apartments and country houses, but also in confined spaces where enhanced protection is needed, for example, recording studios, concert smells, etc.;
Photo: acoustic foam
- roll sound insulation . A fast and affordable way to effectively soundproof an apartment. The material is produced in rolls, which are fixed to load-bearing surfaces using glue intended for vinyl wallpaper. Rolled products absorb up to 60% of external sounds.
If in your apartment or house there is constantly unwanted noise coming from neighbors or from the street, you should not let the situation take its course, jeopardizing your own health. Take care of the insulation protection of your home. This is important because constant exposure to unnecessary sound waves negatively affects your health, as well as the well-being of those close to you.
Types of panels
Acoustic wall boards are a soundproofing type of building material that is used as an additional or decorative cladding of walls and ceilings. They are able to improve the quality of sounds emitted inside a room or building, contribute to its uniform distribution through the air, but nothing can be heard on the street. This solution is especially relevant, for example, for cinemas or music studios.
Soundproofing analogues differ in their operating principle in that they create an obstacle to the penetration of noise from outside into the room being served. If you need to meet both conditions, you can choose combined options. Let's look at the features of the samples using specific examples.
