Glue Features
Cosmofen glue has a wide range of uses. It is produced in a special package with a dispenser cap, with which you can apply the adhesive mixture to the surfaces to be glued as economically as possible. Such a dispenser cap allows you to dose Cosmofen glue with high precision.
Important! After using the adhesive composition, you must close the cap tightly so that the mixture does not dry out until the next use.
Cosmofen glue is also sold in large packages, because it is often used by professionals when carrying out various construction, repair, installation, reconstruction work, as well as in the production sector for the manufacture of various products and parts.
It is recommended to store Cosmofen glue in a dark place at room temperature, out of direct sunlight. It is strongly recommended that this adhesive be kept away from children and prevented from being found by them. The mixture is quite toxic, so if it comes into contact with the skin, it can cause a severe chemical burn. In such situations, you should immediately contact medical institutions.
Varieties of "Cosmofen"
Varieties of Cosmo are divided into 2 main types::
- Cosmofen CA 12
- Cosmofen CA 500
But the Weiss company from Germany also produces other types of Cosmofen:
- Cosmofen liquid plastic is capable of combining faulty window parts of different thicknesses, therefore it is usually used for working with plastic windows. When applied, the fact of rapid fixation is provided, when there is no time to correct defects. The seam can withstand various temperature influences, has thermal conductivity and the highest resistance to external factors.
- Cosmofen 345 is an adhesive mass for quick gluing of wood, stone, concrete and is used as a joint compactor, because after drying the joint becomes elastic and elastic, resistant to various weather conditions and sunlight.
Advantages and disadvantages
The product is presented in the form of a one-component composition. Cosmofen glue is produced using cyanoacrylate. Due to this substance, any ordinary composition turns into superglue - it dries instantly and sets immediately, which is why, due to inexperience, many consumers glue their fingers.
The main advantages of Cosmofen glue include:
- Increased strength of the resulting seam.
- The mixture is completely ready for use, sold in packages of different sizes (from small tubes with a volume of 20 ml to large packages intended for industrial use).
- Ease of use (the surfaces to be glued need to be pressed against each other for 10-15 seconds).
- Providing instant and high-quality bonding of surfaces.
The main disadvantage of Cosmofen adhesive compositions is the low resistance of the finished frozen seam to high temperatures (more than 80 ° C). At this temperature, the frozen seam will begin to soften.
The disadvantages also include the fact that Cosmofen glue is quite expensive when compared with domestic analogues. For example, for a small 20 ml tube you will have to pay about 150-200 rubles, while the cost of similar Russian products does not exceed 100 rubles. At the same time, in terms of basic technical and performance characteristics, Cosmofen is significantly ahead of its closest competitors.
Important! The instructions for using Cosmofen glue say that it is not recommended to use it for gluing products that will be used in high-temperature conditions or in contact with hot parts.
Also, ethyl cyanocrylate is added to the Cosmofen glue, which makes the glue toxic. Therefore, work must be carried out in a well-ventilated area.
Useful tips
High-quality connection of surfaces will ensure compliance with the recommendations of specialists on the use of glue:
- Hardening time will be minimal if the ambient temperature is not lower than +20° C and the humidity is not more than 60%.
- Using glue, you can connect any surfaces, and the seam will be colorless and almost invisible.
- The product is excellent for gluing only painted or chemically treated aluminum surfaces. If preparation for the gluing procedure is neglected, the connection will not be strong enough.
- It will take a few seconds to fix the parts; complete hardening is achieved after 16 hours.
- Most often, glue is used to repair shoes, as it provides reliable bonding of the materials from which they are made.
- The adhesive is not intended for joining products that during operation will be in constant contact with water, have a porous surface, or if a plastic seam is required.
- The quality of gluing depends on how well the surfaces are degreased before starting work.
- Cosmofen glue works effectively at temperatures from +5 to +80° C.
- The composition is excellent for gluing small parts or when quick fixation is required.
- The high degree of adhesion of the adhesive composition allows it to be used for joining metal elements.
- Polypropylene and A-PET are chemically inert, for this reason their gluing may be poor quality.
- Before working with glue, wear glasses and rubber gloves, as cyanoacrylate is a dangerous substance that can instantly glue your fingers or eyelids.
- It is advisable to use a respirator, as glue vapors can provoke allergic reactions.
- The composition is very flammable, so smoking while working with it is strictly prohibited.
After gluing is completed, ventilate the room thoroughly by opening the windows. It is not recommended that animals or small children be in the room at this time, as the product may have a negative effect on them.
Area of use
Cosmofen glue has a wide range of applications, high performance properties and technical characteristics in accordance with the manufacturer’s description.
The following areas can be identified where the Cosmofen adhesive composition can be used without restrictions:
- Bonding polymer and plastic materials of various types (polyvinyl chloride, polypropylene, etc.).
- Bonding of sealing profile elements when installing plastic window systems.
- Carrying out various plumbing works (with the exception of pipes and elements in contact with hot water supply).
- Manufacturing of plastic toys, production of jewelry.
- Sailing modeling.
- Assembly of electrical and radio-electronic products and parts.
- Manufacturing of optical equipment and devices.

- Installation of suspended ceilings (Cosmofen glue is used in this case in large quantities).
- Connecting wooden products, chipboard, fiberboard and other boards made of light wood fiber.
- Bonding of silicone products, thermoplastic elastomers (only when mixed with primers).
Important! You cannot use Cosmofen glue for gluing porous plastic materials, because the composition is absorbed by the pores, which is why the strength of the connection cannot be ensured.
Using Cosmofen glue you can quickly seal cuts on a stretch ceiling. Moreover, it does not matter what material the stretch ceiling is made of.
Scope of application
"Cosmofen" has a wide range of applications:
- It is used when working with various types of plastic (including PVC and polypropylene surfaces). When installing windows, an adhesive composition is used to connect the sealing profiles. It is not used for gluing porous plastic, since the adhesive composition, when absorbed by the pores, cannot impart the necessary strength to the joint.
- "Cosmofen" is indispensable for plumbing work.
- The adhesive composition is widely used in the production of toys and various jewelry.
- Used in sailing modeling.
- Not a single assembly of radio-electronic and electrical industry products can be completed without Cosmofen.
- Used in the production of optical instruments.
- The adhesive composition works well when working with glass, rubber, and metal.
- Medicine has adequately appreciated the quality of the glue - it is widely used in the production of equipment for orthopedics and dentistry.
- "Cosmofen" is also intended for the installation of suspended ceilings.
- The polymer is applicable in the production of cars, aircraft and ships.
- Used in the woodworking industry to connect wooden products, chipboards, and fiberboards together.
- When Cosmofen is mixed with a primer, a composition is formed that glues products made of silicone and thermoplastic elastomers.
Main technical characteristics
Cosmofen glue glues various homogeneous and dissimilar materials together, despite the fact that the composition is one-component.
The most important performance and performance characteristics of the product include:
- Mixture density: 0.99 g/cm3 or more (depending on the type of adhesive mixture).
- The shade of the seam after the crystallization period: white, transparent (also depends on what kind of Cosmofen glue the materials were glued with).
- Time for complete hardening and set of performance characteristics: about 18-22 hours.
- Viscosity level: medium (the mixture is quite liquid when compared with analogues).
- Application temperature: more than +5o C.
- Recommended humidity level: no more than 60-65%.
- Setting of the mixture after application: within 120-180 seconds.
Important! Regardless of the type, Cosmofen super glue hardens very quickly due to the presence of cyanoacrylate in the composition. Therefore, the work must be carried out as quickly as possible - it is unlikely that it will be possible to correct the position of the connected parts.

Cleaner Cosmofen for PVC windows
Cosmofen for cleaning plastic windows contains a solvent, due to which it slightly softens the surfaces being cleaned. The composition contains esters of carboxylic acids that dissolve contaminants.
There are 4 main models of Cosmofen plastic cleaner produced. Their compositions differ in the content of active components and, as a result, in the type of effect.
There are 4 models of plastic cleaner available: Cosmofen 5, 10, 20, 60
Cosmofen 5 (CL-300.110) is a highly solvent cleaner containing aliphatic ketones that enhance the effect. Cosmofen solvent will allow you to remove small cracks and scratches, polish PVC surfaces, and neutralize the effects of friction.
Cosmofen 10 (CL-300.120) is a weakly solvent cleaner, consisting only of carboxylic acid esters. Used to prepare PVC surfaces for gluing. Removes coarse dirt and marker writing on white PVC. This product is distinguished by a high combustion temperature of +460°.
Cosmofen 20 (CL-300.140) is a non-solvent cleaner containing aliphatic hydrocarbons plus an antistatic agent. The product cleans surfaces of various types of plastic, plastic and plexiglass. Removes contamination from resin, sealant, bitumen, rubber, foam, pen writing, etc.
Typically, Cosmofen 20 cleaner is used to clean not very dirty doors and windows. The antistatic agent it contains protects the cleaned surface from subsequent contamination for a long time.
To clean not very dirty doors and windows, use Cosmofen 20
Cosmofen 60 (CL-300.150) is a quick-drying cleaner for anodized and painted surfaces. Removes fresh residues of glue, sealant, rubber, dirt, grease, pencil stains, scraps of polyurethane foam, bitumen and resin.
Cleaner Cosmofen: instructions for use
Cosmofen brand cleaning products are recommended for use on surfaces that have been previously washed with water and dried. Then be sure to use gloves, saturate a napkin with the product and wipe the surface with it as many times as necessary until it is completely shiny.
Important! Care must be taken when handling, as there is no doubt whether Cosmofen will stick. The glue is very difficult to remove from the skin of your hands. If it gets into the eye area, rinse them with water and immediately go to the doctor.
How to wipe off excess cosmofen? After finishing work, it is often necessary to remove the remnants of carelessly smeared glue from laminate flooring, suspended ceilings, windows, linoleum, and clothing.
Before using the cleaner, the surface must be washed with water and dried.
How to wash Cosmofen? There is only one product that can remove dried cyanoacrylate glue residues. This is Dimexide. You can buy it inexpensively at any pharmacy. Dimexide must be applied directly to the dried glue residue and left for a few minutes to soften. Then they are removed with a simple cloth or bandage. Sometimes the procedure needs to be carried out more than once.
Dimexide is a unique product. It preserves the surface of any materials and ideally removes traces of glue.
Helpful advice! You can treat your facial skin with the remaining Dimexide, because the product successfully smoothes out fine wrinkles no worse than Botox. But it needs to be diluted with water! Pure Dimexide can cause burns.
Using dimexide you can wash Cosmofen glue
How to use glue?
Before starting work on gluing products or parts, it is necessary to clean the surfaces to be joined as thoroughly as possible. Any dirt, grease and oil stains, remnants of old adhesive mixtures, etc. must be removed from them. If Cosmofen glue is used for gluing metal surfaces, then it is necessary to pre-treat them with a solvent.
After preparing the surface, work is carried out in the following sequence:
- An adhesive mixture must be applied to one of the surfaces to be glued.
- The composition is applied using a dispenser cap.
- After application, you must immediately press and hold the surfaces to be bonded firmly.
- You need to hold it for about 10-20 seconds.
Important! If the parts were initially connected incorrectly, then it will no longer be possible to correct their position 10 seconds after connection.
Cosmofen glue finally hardens and gains the required performance characteristics in approximately 8-16 hours. To speed up the hardening process of the adhesive solution, it is necessary to use special catalysts.

Disadvantages of Cosmofen liquid plastic
This sealant also has disadvantages:
- Do not glue objects that are constantly in contact with water;
- the glued fragments should not be porous in structure;
- Cosmofen is not used in cases where a plastic seam may result;
- if you need to glue a metal surface, it is necessary to treat it with a special substance, otherwise the effect of gluing will be zero;
- Surfaces with different thermal expansions must be joined very carefully.
Security measures
Cosmofen liquid window plastic contains cyanoacrylate. This is a dangerous substance, therefore, when handling this sealant, the following safety precautions must be observed:
Is it possible to somehow wipe off the Cosmofen glue?
Cosmofen glue for plastic is quite difficult to wipe off. If excess adhesive solution has formed, or frozen drops of it remain on the material after use, it is recommended to remove them using special cleaning agents. For example, you can use Cosmo branded cleaner.
- If it is not possible to purchase such a cleaner, then it is recommended to use traditional “Dimexide”. The product must be applied to the hardened adhesive composition and wait 3-4 minutes. As a result of exposure to Dimexide, the hardened solution will gradually begin to soften, so it can be removed with a rag or damp cloth. If a large amount of Cosmofen glue was accidentally spilled, then the frozen adhesive solution will need to be soaked repeatedly - until the entire frozen mixture is softened.
- If the adhesive mixture has frozen on your hands, do not try to rub it off mechanically. In this case, Cosmofen glue can also be removed using Dimexide, but the product must be diluted with clean water at room temperature in a ratio of 1:3. Dimexide cannot be used in its pure form, as it can cause severe burns.
Important! If a highly concentrated type of Cosmofen glue comes into contact with the skin, there is a possibility of a fairly severe chemical burn at the site of contact. In such a situation, it is recommended to seek help from a medical facility as quickly as possible.
What to scrub with?
Excess applied adhesive in places not intended for gluing should be removed using a special cleaner “Cosmo CL-300.150”.
Removal can also be done with the well-tested Dimexide product. A pharmaceutical product should be poured onto the glue-stained surface to help dissolve Cosmofen. You just need to wait a few minutes. Under the influence of Dimexide, the unnecessary glue will soften. Now it can be easily removed with a napkin or a piece of cotton wool. If you accidentally spilled a large amount of Cosmofen, then this soaking procedure must be repeated several times. “Dimexide” is an excellent product that will never spoil the outer surface of the processed materials or clothing. It will remove all glue completely without any residue.
In order to wash the adhesive off your hands, you need to dilute Dimexide with water.
In concentrated form, it can cause severe burns, so it must be used with great caution.
Basic rules for storing glue:
- if the temperature regime is strictly observed (from +15°C to +25°C), then the composition will last up to six months; at low temperatures (about +6) it will not lose its quality characteristics for up to a year;
- it is necessary to exclude high humidity around;
- the adhesive composition does not like the presence of direct sunlight;
- glue that is in damaged original packaging is stored for no more than 5 months.
Storage rules
Cosmofen glue must be stored in accordance with the rules established by the manufacturer:
- At room temperature, the adhesive composition can be stored and used periodically for 5-6 months.
- If the temperature is low (less than +5o C), then it can be stored and used for 10-12 months.
- Storage should be carried out at a humidity of no more than 65%.
- The adhesive solution must be stored in a dark place (it is important that the product packaging is not exposed to the sun's rays and is not exposed to ultraviolet radiation).
- If the original packaging is broken, the maximum shelf life is 3-4 months.
